The US House of Representatives consists of 435 Representatives. Currently 199 of them are Republicans. In the present stage, the Democrats’ relationships with the Republican Party and the Republican President are extremely strained.
The Armenian Caucus of the 116th Congress consists of 110 Representatives.
During the meeting with the Armenian National Assembly speaker Ararat Mirzoyan, only the Democrat Representatives of the Armenian Caucus were present, although there are 18 Republican members involved. Even if the Democrats are the initiators of the event, the invitations are also sent to the Republican Representatives. The same principle applies if the event is initiated by the Armenian Embassy or Armenian lobbyists. If the Republicans were invited and did not come to the meeting, it means we haven’t learned yet how to work with the GOP.
