FORUM
On May 22, 2021 the Armenian Center for American Studies organized the “First Armenian-American Academic Forum” with the financial support of the US Embassy in Armenia.
The forum was dedicated to the US role in the regional security of the South Caucasus and Turkey’s role in the region, Armenian-Turkish relations, as well as their future. The forum had a hybrid format. Armenian experts were present in an offline format, while the US experts joined via video messages.
During the forum discussion, the invited experts discussed the policy of the United States’ new administration towards the South Caucasus and Armenia, the dynamics of the US-Armenian relations, the possibilities of deepening relations, as well as the role of the US in the regional security system and in the context of the settlement of Armenian-Turkish relations.
The “First Armenian-American Academic Forum” consisted of two parts. The first part was dedicated to the US policy in the South Caucasus, with special emphasis on Armenian-American relations. And in the second part Armenian-Turkish relations and the role of the USA in the regulation of those relations were discussed by the experts and political circles.
Among the experts were:

- Eduard Abrahamyan, University of Leicester;
- Dr. Ruben Melkonyan, Dean, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Yerevan State University;
- Dr. Varuzhan Geghamyan, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Yerevan State University;
- Aris Nalci, Journalist, Media Analyst and Writer.
