On November 21, the second attempt of the adoption of S.Res. 150 on recognition of Armenian Genocide was prevented by another Republican Senator David Perdue. Senator argued that its passage during a sensitive period “would undermine the administration’s commitment to overcoming real challenges in our bilateral relationship with Turkey”.
It should be noted that David Perdue is one of the most loyal Senators in the Upper Chamber of the Congress, and he is the first congressional candidate to directly receive support from a Trump-backed fundraising committee.
