The Spread of Coronavirus in the USA

✔ As of March 25, the United States recorded more than 54 thousand cases of coronavirus, the number of deaths reached 782, and there are 378 cases of recovery. The “Stay at Home” state orders came into force in 16 states today. Among those states are California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Washington and West Virginia. The population of these states comprises 40% of the total US population.

✔According to coronavirus cases per capita among the US states, New York is the first, followed by Washington and Louisiana.  

✔ On March 24 the spokeswoman for the World Health Organization said that 85% of cases registered in the last 24 hours were from Europe and the United States, 40% of which were in the United States. Given the rapid spread of cases in the United States, the spokeswoman noted that it could become the new epicenter of coronavirus.

✔Among those infected there are already Congressmen and one Senator . They are: Congressmen Mario Díaz-Balarta and Ben McAdams. Currently, only one Senator has tested positive for coronavirus, heis Republican Rand Paul.

✔ Following five days of negotiation Senate leaders and the Trump administration reached an agreement early Wednesday on an unprecedented size and scope legislation of $2 trillion. The money would be provided to rescue the US economy from the coronavirus assault, including sending $1,200 checks to many Americans, creating a $367 billion loan program for small businesses and setting up a $500 billion fund for industries, cities and states.

✔Among the household products, Americans are responding to the growing coronavirus epidemic by buying weapons and ammunition. Arms shops around the country report increasing volumes of ammunition sales, with people queuing up to buy weapons. This process poses dangers as it can lead to a significant increase in suicides and domestic violence.

✔Coronavirus has also affected the US electoral processes. The last primaries took place on March 17 in Arizona, Florida and Illinois. The remaining part of  other primaries is planned to be organized either by mail or be postponed to May and June.  ✔On TuesdayPresident Trump expressed hope that all restrictions on coronavirus would be lifted before Easter.
